We’ve discovered the common theme to all the toddler rides at Disneyland – they go around and around…From “Teapots” to Dumbo, Katherine loves rides that go in circles. Grandma dropped us off at Disneyland in the morning, at which point we hoofed it to Fantasyland. After Small World, I convinced Steve to please eat before we headed off into the 105 degree heat. Our first stop afterwards was the Dumbo ride. Katherine asked that I go on the ride, so we went “uuuppp and dooown” and of course around and around. We hit the teapots, Storybook (yawn!), and then the Train around the park.
At this point, the heat was just overbearing. We went to Main Street and got to the highlight of the morning – this cheeseball drink cup with a big Tigger and straw on top. Katherine loved this figurine and spent the rest of the trip with her Tigger cup (still loves it). We then visited the Baby Center at Disneyland, which is a great resource. It’s this building off main street that has nursing and changing stations.
Anyway, Steve convinced me to try one more ride and we went to the Jungle Cruise, which he worked on years ago during one summer. The wait was just a few minutes and we got to experienced the more PC Jungle Cruise before leaving the park.
After getting home and post-nap, the great-grandparents came over for a dinner and more bridge. Katherine was quite the bridge distraction. She was playing with her play pots and pans, her own deck of cards “Tata play…” on the bridge table and a pack of pennies with a Mickey-mouse bank. Despite the noise and mayhem, we all had lots of fun.
